What the program is

A structured course for understanding long-term investing concepts without sales pressure.

The Investing in Canada Program introduces adult learners to the language and ideas that appear in long-term investing discussions. It is organised around understanding concepts before reacting to headlines or price movement.

Learners explore time horizon, uncertainty, diversification and the difference between a long-term plan and short-term trading behaviour. Exercises are designed to help people read information more carefully and maintain useful written records of what they have learned.

This is education only. Dutch Fitness & Combat B.V. does not manage money, open investment accounts or promise results.

Who it is for

Adults in Canada who want a beginner-friendly framework for learning.

The program is suitable for adults who have little or no formal investing education and want to understand common terminology without being asked to open an account or choose a product.

All lessons are delivered online, so learners may join from any Canadian province or territory. Dutch Fitness & Combat B.V. remains based in the Netherlands and does not claim a Canadian headquarters or regulator endorsement.

What you learn

Six concepts that make long-term investing information easier to interpret.

01

Long-horizon thinking

See why investment decisions discussed over years differ from reactions to day-to-day market moves.

02

Risk and volatility

Learn how price fluctuation relates to risk without treating the two ideas as identical.

03

Diversification

Understand why spreading exposure can reduce dependence on one company, sector or theme.

04

Planning versus trading

Compare a repeatable process with short-term decisions driven by immediate market events.

05

Reading charts

Check time period, scale and labels before drawing a conclusion from a visual.

06

Notebook records

Keep dated notes on definitions, assumptions, questions and points to revisit later.

Curriculum

Three modules that build from context to interpretation.

Module 1

Horizon, purpose and the role of time

Explore why time horizon changes the way a market event is interpreted. Work through simple examples comparing short-term movement with longer-term objectives.

  • Purpose and constraints
  • Short-term movement in context

Module 2

Risk, uncertainty and concentration

Develop a clear vocabulary for volatility and uncertainty. Examine concentration and diversification as general concepts rather than product recommendations.

  • Concentration risk
  • Diversification principles

Module 3

Reading market information with context

Practise reading simple charts and headlines while separating facts from interpretation. Use a notebook to record questions that need more evidence.

  • Chart basics
  • Headline review
  • Learning records

How study works

Short online lessons supported by written practice.

The course runs for 7 weeks and requires approximately 2–3 hours per week. Each week includes a focused reading lesson, one worked example, a short self-check and a notebook exercise.

Practice may involve defining a term in your own words, comparing two headlines about the same event, identifying a chart's scale and time period, or recording an assumption that would need verification.

No investment account, trading simulator or deposit is required.
